Motivate People to Win People to Christ

Back Home Up Next

Objective: To motivate soul-winning in the general congregation.

One of the most difficult goals that an evangelistic pastor can have focuses upon the members becoming almost unconsciously involved in soul-winning.

Method Principle: I believe this requires personal and continued contacts.

General assumptions.

1. A prayerful consecration to the task by the pastor and staff.

2. A recognition of the value of telephone contacts.

3. Use the Sunday School Organization if it has outreach directors, etc. If not, get them appointed.

Procedures.

1. Divide each Sunday School class above the age of nine into groups of 10 persons. The lists should include the name and phone number of each of the 10 on a separate sheet.

2. Appoint one of the 10 as the leader of the group. This should be done in a personal meeting. The meeting could involve one on one or all of the 10 meeting together. But it is essential that every one of the leaders be contacted personally.

3. The pastor and staff will obtain a list of the leaders and distribute them so that the pastor and each staff member has a separate sheet for the name and phone number of each leader.

4. At least once each month, the pastor and/or the staff will call each one of the leaders assigned to that staff member. They will do the following:

1. Tell of their experiences in soul-winning,

2. Ask for an exchange of experiences,

3. Ask how the monthly call to their workers came out,

4. Inquire if there is any way in which they could give soul-winning aid,

5. Have prayer for the soul-winning work of the church.

6. Encourage the leader to make the calls to their workers.

5. At least once each month the leaders will call their workers and do the same motivation and sharing.
