I won't attend my funeral

(Much as I’d like to be there);

For I’ll be in another country

Free from all earthly care.

I'd like to hear the eulogy,

 And what folks have to say

About the way that I had lived,

While in this house of clay.

But as I said, I won't be there,

You will only see the shell

That housed a loving spirit,

And I pray all will be well.

And there's another special song,

That since childhood I recall;

And it is still a favorite:

It's "My Savior first of All."

It will be no time for mourning,

But if I could have my way;

I’d wish this world were better

Because I'd passed this way.
